Roblox CEO urges concerned parents to forbid their children from accessing the platform

Roblox Corporation has put measures in place to protect its users, but there is no such thing as zero risk. Younger players can quickly be exposed to dangers on such a platform, which attracts tens of millions of people every day.
Back in 2024, several reports stated that the company had not invested sufficiently in the safety of its young users, which led to new guidelines for children under the age of 13 and reinforced parental controls.
This week, Dave Baszucki, CEO of Roblox Corporation, made a new statement to the BBC that did not go unnoticed.
"My first message would be, if you're not comfortable, don't let your kids be on Roblox. That sounds a little counter-intuitive, but I would always trust parents to make their own decisions."
"Part of our long-term vision is to give parents controls to monitor and limit the time their child spends on Roblox. From what we've heard, this is an important issue for parents."
Thanks to the new parental control options, you can check the average screen time a child spends on Roblox for a whole week. There's also a list of friends and the option of setting daily limits.
"We watch for bullying, we watch for harassment, we filter all of those kinds of things, and I would say behind the scenes, the analysis goes on all the way to, if necessary, reaching out to law enforcement", finished the Roblox CEO.
