Before being canceled by EA, Star Wars Battlefront III was almost ready to be released

Just before being rebooted in 2015 with a purely multiplayer game, the Star Wars Battlefront saga had impressed everyone with its debut in 2004. It was a first and third-person shooter game with a captivating campaign and an extremely complete multiplayer mode. A sequel had logically been released the following year.

But surprisingly, a real Star Wars Battlefront III never saw the light of day. The title was nevertheless in production at Free Radical. Today, Michael Barclay, a former studio employee who currently works at Naughty Dog, reveals that the game was very close to being finished before being canceled by EA. To drive the point home, Barclay took the trouble to specify that the game “was going to be incredible”.
