The latest update for Xbox Insider members resets the console to factory settings

Members of the Xbox Insider program are facing a very annoying bug caused by the latest system patch recently made available to them.
Users who take part in the Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead levels are reporting that their consoles have been restored to factory settings. Some of the data stored on the machine has been deleted, including Xbox profiles, general device settings and quick restart data. That said, installed games appear to remain on the Xbox.
To make matters worse, those belonging the Insider program must download the update. For the time being, therefore, it is very difficult to avoid this problem.
