According to the latest rumors, there's an RTX 4090 with 96 GB of RAM in development

A version of the RTX 4090 equipped with 96 GB VRAM is said to be in the test phase and could enter mass production in the coming months.

One in X users claims to have received confirmation of the existence of this model, although production has not yet been launched. According to industry sources, a variant with 48 GB VRAM already exists, while the 96 GB model could arrive within three to four months.

Technically, the RTX 4090 features a 384-bit memory bus, which would require 4 GB GDDR6X modules to reach 96 GB via 12 channels. However, current modules are limited to 2 GB, and the source of the 4 GB chips mentioned by some sources remains unknown.

This card would be aimed primarily at artificial intelligence and data processing workloads, with no real interest in gaming. In a context where access to AI accelerators is pretty difficult in certain regions, these GPUs with extended memory could be a pretty good alternative.
