Three years after release, the Steam Deck has sold 6 million units

The Steam Deck celebrated its third anniversary this week. Available since February 25, 2022, Valve's portable console quickly became a commercial success.
Market research firm IDC, which uses production lines to track the number of units shipped, has now released its estimates. We learn that 5.972 million Steam Decks have been shipped worldwide so far. By 2025, it is estimated that a further 1.926 million machines will be added to this total, taking it to almost 8 million units.
While competition is increasingly fierce in the handheld console market, Steam Deck should maintain a healthy lead over the next few years.
