AMD is working on Fluid Motion Frames 2.1

AMD is about to announce an update on its Fluid Motion Frames tech. Version 2.0, which released in October, included adjustable performance and latency profiles, as well as improved support for borderless mode.

At the same time, NVIIDA introduced a similar tech, Smooth Motion, for the GeForce GPUs. AFMF 2.1 is currently in the works and should be available with the Radeon RX 9070 series as part of a HYPR-RX update.

AMD claims it will improve the quality of the generated images and will be compatible with the same hardware as version 2.0, including the Ryzen AI 300 processors. A release date has still to be announced.
