Sony is the second Japanese company with the largest market capitalization

The Japanese company behind PlayStation is doing extremely well. Founded in 1946 as Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo, Sony has become a behemoth in many fields. Whether in photography, film, music or, of course, video games, the company has established itself as a leader in entertainment and new technologies.

Not surprisingly, its market capitalization (the total value of a company's shares) recently reached $149.32 billion, which makes it the second-largest Japanese multinational behind Toyota ($231.69 billion) and ahead of Mitsubishi ($146.46 billion).

Sony isn't going anywhere, folks.
