Eric Barone has paused the development of Haunted Chocolatier to focus on Stardew Valley

Developing an independent game is not an easy task. Eric Barone knows this firsthand after devoting five years of his life to the creation of Stardew Valley. Since its initial release in 2016, the farm management simulator has undergone many changes thanks to frequent updates.
Currently, Barone is also working on a new game titled Haunted Chocolatier, an RPG/simulation in which the player must manage their own chocolate factory. Unfortunately, the project has been put on hold. Its creator announced the news on Twitter, stating that he needs to focus on the development of Stardew Valley's 1.6 update. This update will once again bring additional content to the game and make it easier to include mods.
Development of Haunted Chocolatier will likely resume shortly after the release of the patch. The release date for the new game has not yet been announced (and it's probably not coming anytime soon).
