Sony and Kadokawa want to strengthen their partnership
, by Thibaut
While announcing its financial results for the most recent quarter, Sony spoke of its collaboration with Kadokawa, the entertainment giant that owns FromSoftware.
Although a takeover has been rumored for long now, in the end, the company just opted to acquire a bigger stake in the company, which will lead to a closer partnership on various projects.
For example, Sony has announced its intention to adapt Kadokawa licenses into live-action films and series. There will also be co-productions on anime. In addition, Sony will participate in the worldwide distribution of anime and video games created by Kadokawa.
We can thus assume that marketing for FromSoftware's upcoming games will be orchestrated by PlayStation. However, these titles should not be exclusive to the PS5.
