Sony is now the biggest shareholder in Kadokawa

Although Sony had originally intended to outright buy Kadokawa, the Japanese company has opted for a different strategy. In the end, rather than buying the company that hosts FromSoftware, the company has decided to become its biggest shareholder.
This takes effect on Tuesday, January 7, with Sony now owning 10.11% of the shares in the Japanese entertainment company. This will let the two partners forge a stronger alliance in the future.
For the time being, it seems the possibility of a major takeover is out of the cards.
