A ton of gameplay for Final Fantasy XVI

As planned, Sony aired a State of Play this week entirely dedicated to Final Fantasy XVI. And let's say Square Enix didn't do things by halves. During this long presentation of about 25 minutes, we learned more about the game's universe, its story, and its combat system.

First of all, it should be noted that the story of Final Fantasy XVI will span a period of 35 years. It begins when the main character of this adventure, Clive Rosfield, is only in his twenties. We will then follow him for a good part of his life.

This State of Play was an opportunity to admire the highly diverse environments of the kingdom of Valisthea and the real-time combat system. Moreover, some battles will allow us to directly embody the summons (called Primordials) such as Ifrit, Phoenix, or Shiva. These epic-staged battles will each have a unique gameplay style.

The menus (main, skills, map...) were also extensively presented. In short, there will be plenty to do in Final Fantasy XVI, which is still expected to be released on PS5 on June 22nd.
