Insomniac Games pitched Resistance 4 to Sony... but the company didn't greenlight it

The Resistance franchise is still trapped in the PS3 generation. That said, two spin-offs were released for Sony's handhelds.
During an interview with Kinda Funny, Ted Price, CEO of Insomniac Games who will be leaving his position next month spoke about an hypothetical fourh entry.
"Resistance 4. We did pitch that one and it was a wonderful concept, and it just, in terms of timing and market opportunity, didn’t work out. It was the result of a lot of Insomniac team members being passionate about extending the story further, because I do believe that Resistance has set up a really cool alternate history base where anything can happen with the Chimera and where they go and what their origins are."
The first game, Resistance: Fall of Man, was originally released on PS3 in November 2006. It was followed by Resistance 2 in November 2008 and Resistance 3 in September 2011. For its part Resistance: Retribution was released on PSP in March 2009 and Resistance: Burning Skies on PS Vita in May 2012. The latter two were not developed by Insomniac.
