After the first mixed reviews for Civilization VII, the game will undergo some big changes
, by Thibaut
Expected on February 11 on consoles and PC, those who have purchased Civilization VII Deluxe or Founders edition can play the game already. That said, the first reviews are far from good...
On Steam, the game's ratings are mixed, with only 47% of the more than 5,500 reviews being positive. This is due to a number of problems that the devs have already taken into account.
Firaxis Games claims to have identified three key areas for improvement. For starters, the UI will be made more intuitive, maps will be more legible and several zones will be polished.
Second, there are a few features requested by the community that will make it into the game, like coop, customizing the names of the cities and religions, choose the starting and ending ages and a greater variety of maps. All these will come via free updates.
Last but not least, the patch 1.1.0 for the game will be rolled out in March, containing tweaks to the interface, diplomacy and crises, better overall balancing and AI improvements. Of course, other bugs will get ironed out too.
