The 31st Union CEO has been fired by 2K Games following the poor reception of Project ETHOS
, by Thibaut
Last October, we learned of Project ETHOS, yet another third-person hero shooter with roguelike elements. Just a few days, the game got a community playtest from October 17 to 20, 2024.
According to Kotaku, this didn't go very well, and feedback from players was more than mixed. As a result, publisher 2K Games decided to remove Michael Condrey, founder and president of 31st Union, the in-house studio behind the free-to-play game.
Condrey is now working as a consultant on Project ETHOS, and 2K says it is "very committed ” to supporting despite this difficult time. This is what a spokesperson for the publisher had to say.
"We are grateful to Michael Condrey for the dedication, passion and work ethic it took to build an incredible team and shape the vision of 31st Union."
