NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 sells for up to $9,100 in Taiwan
, by Quentin
Demand for NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090 is only going up, and prices are on the rise. In Taiwan, scalpers are offering the card for up to $9,100, almost five times its launch price.
Initial stock of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 was limited, and NVIDIA selected a small number of resellers to sell its first batch. This situation favored the appearance of scalpers, who are reselling the cards at much higher prices. But this isn't the case just for Taiwan. In the USA, RTX 5090s are appearing on eBay at comparable prices, and some sellers are even offering pre-orders. Some of the announcements show the card at its official price, but who knows if these are legit at all.
This situation should improve between the end of February and mid-March, although we don't have a precise date yet. The arrival of AMD's Radeon RX 9070s could have an impact on the market, but the availability of RTX 5090s will surely remain a key question for buyers.
