According to Meta, 2025 will be make or break for the metaverse

In an internal company memo, Meta sounds the alarm on the state of its famous metavers. CTO Andrew “Boz” Bosworth has clearly indicated the uncertain future of this initiative, which is central to the American company.
Thus, 2025 is presented as the "most critical" year for the metaverse.
"We need to drive sales, retention, and engagement across the board but especially in MR."
"And Horizon Worlds on mobile absolutely has to break out for our long term plans to have a chance. If you don’t feel the weight of history on you then you aren’t paying attention. This year likely determines whether this entire effort will go down as the work of visionaries or a legendary misadventure."
To put it simply, it's make or break for the metaverse according to Meta. The Reality Labs division posted record fourth-quarter sales of $1.08 billion, though the losses were even bigger, estimated at $4.97 billion, the biggest quarterly loss in the company's history.
