The next big update for Apex Legend will have to wait until the next Battlefield releases

While Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts, welcomed the 200 million players of Apex Legends, he also noted that the game's current trajectory is far from good. After all, Respawn Entertainment's title has lost ground and the number of players in the servers has fallen sharply.
This is why the American studio is currently working on a new version of the game, though it won't be coming out any time soon. To begin with, Respawn will be fine-tuning the game's anti-cheating system and overall experience.
"The second phase, and I think I’ve talked about this before, is we do believe there will be a time where we need to do a more meaningful update of Apex as a broad game experience, and the team is diligently working on that. You should imagine we probably wouldn’t drop that on top of a Battlefield launch. So from a timing standpoint, our thinking right now is that that would exist post-Battlefield."
This next-generation Battlefield is scheduled for release before the end of the next fiscal year on March 31, 2026.
