Phil Spencer reaffirms his commitment to Xbox consoles and also intends to support the Switch 2

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer came out of the woodwork this week to take part in an interview with content creators Danny Peña and Parris Lilly.
While the Xbox boss didn't drop any major bombs, he did reiterate certain strategies to be pursued by the brand in the years to come.
Starting with the company's commitment to hardware, at a time when the Xbox Series is struggling to find its audience.
"On our own hardware, I think it's fundamental to what Xbox is. It's not lost on me that "box" is in the name of our brand. I say from the position that I'm in, I look at hardware as a critical part of what we do, while not trying to gatekeep the games off of other places."
"Let's go build innovative hardware that people want to use to play. Whether it's in their hands, whether it's inside TVs. I love our hardware team, I spent some time with them just this week, and the roadmap that they have."
Last but not least, when it comes to releasing Xbox games on other platforms. Phil Spencer is still onboard with this approach. He also congratulated Nintendo on the announcement of the Switch 2, which Microsoft intends to support with its titles.
"I want everyone to be able to play on Xbox, and that means more of our games will be released on other platforms. Not just PlayStation. We love the work we're doing with Nintendo, we love what we're doing with Valve on Steam, and that's going to continue, we're just going to keep doing more of it."
"The thing that I’ve learned and continue to learn when I listen to creators, not only our own studios but other teams building games, is every creator out there wants to build a game that can find as many players as they want. We’re not gonna put walls up around where people can engage with the great games our studios are building."
