The developers at Bungie wanted to make single-player games, but the executives turned them down

Bungie has been going through quite a lot recently. The studio is currently hard at work on Destiny 2 and Marathon. Journalist Zuhaad Ali has reported on quite a surprising tidbit about the company's current projects.
According to him, the devs would have liked to work in single.player games, be it ambitious or not. Alas, the company's directors firmly opposed the idea, stating that the studio's future lies exclusively in "live service".
Ali would have learned of this in 2024, when he was investigating a completely different subject.
