The price of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is still uncertain

The launch of the Radeon RX 9070 XT seems to have been delayed by discussions between AMD and retailers. According to PC Games Hardware, AMD could have set the initial price too high, making it hard to position the GPU on the market.

Retailers, having already got its stock, are said to be waiting for compensation, be it in marketing funds or cashback to cover the gap between the price paid and the eventual launch price. All this would explain the lack of an official announcement, although some stores have already shown the card on social networks.

All this could be linked to AMD's previous practice of deferred payments on discounts. It seems some resellers have reportedly received their refunds several months after the GPU went on sale. Meanwhile, NVIDIA has announced the prices of the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti, at $549 and $749 each. We'll see if AMD will adjust its prices.
