Now we know the reason behind Bend Studio's GAAS and Bluepoint's God of War game cancellation! And it's all because Concord!
In his podcast, journalist and insider Jeff Grubb stated that Sony was "shell-shocked" by the monumental failure that was Firewalk Studios' title, and that this has prompet all projects in development at its studios to be re-evaluated.
It seems all the live-service games currently in production at PlayStation are facing a lot of "friction" internally, which could prevent them from ever being released. One such title could be Fairgame$ by Haven Studios, which could very well end up buried.
Grubb added that Bend and Bluepoint's freshly cancelled titles were the only ones that the studios were working on, which means that, even if these don't end up closing, they won't release anything for another four or five years. Bend Studio hasn't released anything since Days Gone on PS4 back in 2019, and Bluepoint Games' latest title is the Demon's Souls remake for the PS5, which dates back to 2020.
