Here are the first details on Mario Kart 9

While we won't know more about the Switch 2 games until April 2, the trailer of the machine did show a new Mario Kart.

What we'll call Mario Kart 9 for now got shown in a very short gameplay sequence, yes, but it was enough to reveal a few details.

Starting with the fact that the starting grid for the race is now made up of 24 places, so we can assume that up to 24 people will get to play in multiplayer. The trailer only shows between 17 and 18 karts, though.

Donkey Kong's appearence seems to have been lifted straight from the Super Mario Bros. movie. Last but not least, a multicolored object appears at the entrance to Yoshi's restaurant at the very end of the video. This could be one of the franchise's usual boxes, or perhaps something else.
