Some Switch games may not be compatible with the Switch 2
, by Thibaut
It's no secret that the Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with games from the first hybrid, be it physically or digitally.
However, there may be some exceptions. In a message that appears at the end of the console presentatio trailer, the company says the following.
"Certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2."
This may seem worrying at first sight, but it can be explained by the hardware changes that will surely render some specific games incompatible. For example, it's fair to think that the Nintendo Labo titles will be on the list, given its need to put the Joy-Cons into the boxes. Given that the Switch 2 controllers will be larger, these might not fit.
In any case, Nintendo will give further details very soon.
