NVIDIA improves DLSS Frame Generation on RTX 40s

NVIDIA has just announced an update to DLSS Frame Generation for the RTX 40 GPUs. This uses a new AI model that reduces lacenty, takes up less VRAM and improves performance. These changes will allow RTX 40s to better handle VRAM-intensive assets, mods and textures.

In a test shown by NVIDIA's Jacob Freeman, the new DLSS version showed a slight increase in FPS and a 400 MB reduction in VRAM consumption in one specific case, which should prove useful for GPU users with 8 GB in certain scenarios.

DLSS 4.0, recently announced alongside the RTX 50 GPUs, is compatible with the RTX 40s, albeting Multi Frame Generation will remain exclusive to the RTX 50s. NVIDIA specificies that DLAA, currently in beta, will be compatible with RTX 20, 30, 40 and 50 GPUs.
