While access to The Mercenaries in Resident Evil 4 doesn't cost a dime, it's worth noting that the mode has microtransactions. Indeed, one can spend real money to instantly obtain weapon upgrades. However, these items can still be obtained through normal gameplay. Microtransactions simply allow players to save time by buying special tickets (for 15,95 dollars for five tickets).
