Valve says there won't be a Ryzen Z2-powered Steam Deck 2
, by Thibaut
The VideoCarz.com website reported a few hours ago on a rumor that has turned out to be flat-out wrong. We learned that a Steam Deck with AMD's Ryzen Z2 processor was in the works.
This APU, revealed during CES 2025, would have powered this Steam Dock and provided it with a better performance. Alas, this won't be the case after all.
On Bluesky, Pierre-Loup Griffais, a coder who works at Valve, has denied the existence of this supposed Steam Deck running Ryzen Z2, and has gone so far as to say that such a model isn't in the works and that it will never be.
