Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War cost over $700 million to develop

In a recent article, the Game File journalist Stephen Totilo revealed the absolutely insane budget for several entries in the Call of Duty franchise.
The people from the site got their hands on a court file, and it contains impressive figures divulged by Patrick Kelly, the current creative head of the Call of Duty franchise.
Development of Call of Duty: Black Ops III (2015) cost the American firm over $450 million and sold 43 million copies. For its part, the budget of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) exceeded $640 million and sold some 41 million units.
Last but not least Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (2020) climbs to over $700 million for its development, with a total of 30 million units sold. We can only imagine that the budget for the most recent entries is even higher.
