The Switch 2's Joy-Cons could be hiding a new feature
, by Quentin
We just got a few new images taken from a Chinese factory showing what could very well be the Switch 2 Joy-Cons. These are supposed to be larger and with a magnetic connection, but could be hiding an unexpected innovation.
An intriguing detail, visible in a profile view, suggests the presence of a mouse-like optical sensor, which in turns fuels speculation that the Switch 2's Joy-Cons could offer a mouse function, similar to what Lenovo offers with its Legion Go handheld console. This is reinforced by alleged shipment data from last year, mentioning components related to a mouse.
Nintendo has yet to confirm the existence of the Switch 2, but an official announcement is to be expected before March 2025. In the meantime, we are getting more and more leaks with each passing day.
First images of the console's design appeared in September, followed recently by shots of its internal components. The latter seem to confirm the use of Nvidia hardware, as for the current Switch.
