The PlayStation 5 controller is undoubtedly one of the best in history. Indeed, it is capable of enhancing immersion sensations thanks to its adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. And if we believe a recently filed patent, Sony could soon go even further.
Thus, the Japanese manufacturer would be considering introducing a technology capable of emulating the temperature of a specific moment in a game. By holding the controller, the player could, for example, feel the warmth of a campfire or the cold of a blizzard. This emulation would be achieved through an improvement in haptic feedback. Of course, since this is a patent, nothing can currently indicate that this innovation will actually materialize.
