Amazon's gaming division will be laying off more than 100 employees
, by Thibaut
Times are tough for tech giants. Earlier this year, Amazon laid off 9,000 people from its global workforce in an effort to save money due to the less favorable economic climate caused by inflation.
Unfortunately, the ordeal is not over as Amazon's gaming branch will also be letting go of over a hundred employees. This concerns the teams in charge of Prime Gaming, Game Growth, and the San Diego-based studio. The latter will still continue its pre-production work on an unannounced project. Meanwhile, the studio located in Montreal will continue to expand as development on another unannounced game reportedly progresses well. Finally, the teams in charge of New World are also continuing their work.
