Neil Druckmann speaks on the script for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

Just after announcing Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet at the Game Awards 2024, Neil Druckmann was quick to give more details on the project. The director and co-president of Naughty Dog spoke to The New York Times about it.

We will control Jordan A. Mun (played by Tati Gabrielle), a bounty hunter who finds herself on an isolated world called Sempiria. It seems no one has managed to return from this isolated planet, and no adventurer has left its orbit in 600 years.

As for the rest, Druckmann has stated that the story will be about a fictional religion and the consequences on placing one's faith in several institutions. He added that the game marks a return to the studio's roots in the action and adventure genre. Naughty Dog has supposedly drawn inspiration from its early games and works such as Akira and Cowboy Bebop.

Development started back in 2024 and is said to progress on a good pace.
