Valve appears to be working on a Steam home console

Back in 2018, Valve said goodbye to the Steam Machines, which sadly didn't find any commercial success. However, the American company could be trying its luck with home consoles once again .

First spotted on Reddit and then backed up by engineer Brad Lynch, this info points to the existence of a device codenamed "Fremont" that runs SteamOS. It features a full-format HDMI port, and a Ryzen 5 8540U processor is also included, but this could very well change before development of the device is done.

So, it seems that “Fremont” could be a home console or a kind of mini-PC that can be connected to a TV, and it could be released along the new Steam Controller 2, expected in 2025.
