Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake is Japan's best-selling game of the year in just one week

Dragon Quest III HD-2D is a veritable success in Japan. Square Enix's title sold over 826,000 copies in its first week of release, quickly becoming the best-selling game of 2024 in the country.

According to Famitsu data, 641,195 copies were sold on Nintendo Switch and 185,750 on PlayStation 5. In addition, many Japanese retailers are reporting stock-outs. Were it not for this, the game would have quickly surpassed one million copies sold in Japan alone.
