Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdree could be named Game of the Year at the Game Awards
, by Thibaut
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is an expansion and not a standalone game, but it still has made its mark in 2024. Some fans even want it to win the Game of the Year in spite of this.
And it may very well happen, if we are to believe the eligibility conditions for this year's awards. On their website, the ceremony's organizers have made known the conditions to get nominated.
"The Game Awards aim to recognize the best creative and technical work each year, irrespective of the format of that content's release. Expansion packs, new game seasons, DLCs, remakes and remasters are eligible in all categories [...]. Factors such as the newness of the content and its price/value should be taken into consideration."
So, we could very well see the Elden Ring expansion win the award. The nominees will be announced on Monday November 18.
