Blizzard is recruiting for an unnanounced open-world shooteer
, by Quentin
Blizzard Entertainment recently posted a few job offers for an unannounced project described as an open-world shooter. These announcements follow rumors of the development of a shooter based on the StarCraft IP.
Positions include associate design director, senior designer and principal designer. Although there's little information here, several ads explicitly mention the term "open-world shooter". This project seems to mark a turning point for Blizzard, though the company has yet to say anything on the matter.
Earlier this year, journalist Jason Schreier revealed that Blizzard was working on a new StarCraft shooter directed by Dan Hay, former head of the Far Cry franchise, who left Ubisoft back in 2021. After working on a a survival game codenamed Odyssey, which was cancelled in January 2024, Hay now appears to be involved in this new title.
