LG Display has achieved quite a big breakthrough in the industry by developing the first stretchable screen, capable of expanding by up to 50%, setting a record for extensible rate in the field of technology altogether.
The company has announced this innovative prototype at the LG Science Park in Seoul, with more than 100 industry professionals there to discover this creation. A 12-inch screen that can expand up to 18 inches was shown, all while maintaining a high resolution of 100 pixels per inch and full RGB color reproduction.
Beyond its thinness and lightness, this stretchable screen can adhere to irregular surfaces, such as clothing or even skin, opening the way to many potential applications in a variety of sectors, such as automotive, fashion and many others.
