Nintendo sues streamer for $7.5 million for pre-release Switch games

As we all know, it's not a good idea to get on Nintendo's bad side, as the Japanese firm doesn't hesitate to sue people or entities.

That's what's currently happening to Jesse “EveryGameGuru” Keighin, a streamer who made a habit of streaming Switch exclusives before their launch. For example, he streamed Mario & Luigi: Brotherly Epic three weeks before its release. In the past, it had also ignored Nintendo's numerous cease-and-desist orders against it.

Nintendo has now taken the matter to the next level, claiming that EveryGameGuru's actions "encourage the downloading of pirated copies of unreleased games ”. The company even claims that the streamer was urging his community to make cash donations so that he could continue his activities.

As a result, Nintendo is claiming $150,000 in break-in damages, for a total of up to $7.5 million.
