AMD is said to be preparing next-generation Threadripper processors and APUs with 3D V-Cache
, by Quentin
It appears that 3D V-Cache could be extended to other products in the future, including Threadripper processors and next-generation APUs.
At least that's according to a generally reliable leaker at Chiphell, who claims to have obtained information from sources within AMD's supply chain.
Here's his exact statement:
Threadripper Zen 5 will get an X3D version. Today I learned that the ASUS TRX motherboard BIOS manual mentions V-Cache. So I checked with the supply chain and it's confirmed. What's more, the next generation will start to incorporate 3D on APUs (to improve CPU and GPU performance). The technology and costs are already in place, but current information suggests that this will be limited to laptops, particularly high-end models ‘.
