Microsoft could soon be improving the bit rates of its cloud gaming
, by Thibaut
The Verge reports that Microsoft is planning to improve the quality of the cloud gaming available to its users. Indeed, the Xbox service is not without its faults, with graphics quality varying wildly.
The company's technicians are looking to improve bitrates, i.e. the quantity of digital data transmitted per unit of time. This should allow for better rendering of streamed games. Alas, maximum definition won't go up from 1080p, where competitors such as GeForce Now offer 4K.
To achieve better definition and even lower latency, Microsoft will have to upgrade its servers, which should pose a heavy invest. For the moment, this is not on the agenda.
