According to Digital Foundry, it will be a while before games make the most of the PS6

Digital Foundry, accustomed to discussing at length the future of video games, particularly through upcoming consoles and new tech, has released a podcast about the PlayStation 6.
According to them, we'll have to be patient after the console's release before we see games making the most out of it, as the transition period could last a very long time. Sony is betting on several months, if not years, of cross-gen games.
The reason for this choice is purely financial. Publishers expect a return on investment proportional to development costs, which are becoming increasingly high as the years go by. Still according to Digital Foundry, there would be no justification for releasing a AAA game costing over $100 million exclusively on machines owned by only 1 or 2 million buyers jumping at the chance of a new console release.
In any case, the PlayStation 6 is not due for release any time soon, and it remains to be seen whether will end up being the case.
