Sharkmob London cancels its next game and lays off part of its staff

Things aren't looking good for the video game industry. This time, it's Sharkmob AB that's been hit by a wave of redundancies. ` The company's London offices have cancelled its next game, leading to a restructurin plan within the company. According to the company, here's why employees are being laid off.

"Our team in London has been working on an unannounced game for some time and it is with regret that we now have to announce that this project has been cancelled."

"The decision to cancel the game, unfortunately means there will be a reduction in the number of people we can support in the London studio… This is an incredibly difficult time, and our focus is to provide the support and guidance to those potentially impacted."

For its part, Sharkmob Malmö is still working on the extraction shooter Exoborne.
