Tencent will invest heavily in Remedy Entertainment (Control, Alan Wake)

Remedy is getting closer to Tencent in the coming weeks and months. The two companies have signed an agreement for a convertible loan of 15 million euros.

Such an operation allows the company to disburs the requested amount (in this case Tencent) to convert it later into a number of shares. The loan must be approved by Remedy's Extraordinary General Meeting to be held on October 24.

Tero Virtala, the studio's CEO, says the investment will strengthen Remedy's position as it embarks on the self-publishing of its games. It will also allow for the company to invest even more for in-house title production.
