Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are suing Pocketpair (Palworld)

Nintendo has certainly taken its time and finally decided to take legal action against Pocketpair. The Japanese company accuses the creators of Palworld of patent infringement.

The complaint has been filed with the Tokyo District Court. Together with The Pokémon Company, Nintendo is seeking to bring Pocketpair to justice "on the grounds that Palworld, a game developed and released by the Defendant, infringes multiple patent rights".

It also states the following.

"Nintendo will continue to take necessary actions against any infringement of its intellectual property rights including the Nintendo brand itself, to protect the intellectual properties it has worked hard to establish over the years."

It remains to be seen whether Nintendo has irrefutable proof of the possible infringement by Pocketpair. This will surely result in a long legal battle ahead.
