The PlayStation 6 will still use AMD chips and be backwards compatible
, by Quentin
While the PlayStation 5 Pro has just been announced, there are a few rumors about the PlayStation 6 making the rounds now. It would appear that Sony still wants to work with AMD for the future console's chip, and that it may end up being backwards compatible too.
The details are still unclear though. We don't know if it will work with PS4 games, or just PS5 ones, and if there may be older consoles included.
As for the AMD chip, Sony had begun talks with Intel with a possible change of partner in mind. However, this could have compromised compatibility with older titles, and the company opted to not take any risks.
