The first comparatives between the RTX 4070 GDDR6 and GDDR6X shows very little diference
, by Quentin
A few weeks ago, a new variant of NVIDIA's RTX 4070 made its appearance. It's a model that replaces the GDDR6X memory with simple GDDR6.
Although the company was quick to assure us that performance would still be the same, many media outlets have gone and test it themselves.
The verdict is in: the difference is minimal, but it's there. While performance is almost identical in 1080p and 1440p, there's a slight drop in 4K. In short, the RTX 4070 GDDR6 delivers around 97.7% of the original version's performance in 4K, compared with 99% in other resolutions.
