Merge Games (Indika, Spirit of the North) will close its Chelford office and lay off staff

The British company behind titles such as Indika, Spirit of the North, Smalland and The Thaumaturge, will be hit by a wave of redundancies soon enough.
Merge Games has announced the closure of its offices in Chelford, England. Of course, an unspecified number of people will be made redundant in the process. Once the restructuring is complete, the company will merge with Maximum Entertainment, which will absorb its entire games catalog.
Christina Seelye, CEO of Maximum Entertainment, said the following about this.
"Within the context of previously announced reductions, we made the difficult but necessary decision to take further cost-cutting measures, and these unfortunately include staff redundancies [...] We must finish the year and enter 2025 stronger and leaner to continue our best work."
