Riot will increase the price of its virtual currencies by over 70% in some countries

Riot Games will be adjusting its prices from September 18. Five of the studio's games will see their virtual currency prices revised, be it upwards of downwards.

These include Valorant, League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra and League of Legends: Wild Rift. That said, some territories will see no changes, such as the United States.

On the other hand, other countries will see significant price increases, notably in Ukraine, up between 64 and 74%. In the Philippines, prices will rise by 40%, and by 41% in Vietnam. The biggest drop is from Legends of Runeterra in Colombia, with a sharp -16%.

In its press release, Riot explains that it wants to "better balance prices between regions" and combat methods such as VPNs and server transfers, which can be used to buy currency at a better price.
