New info on the cancelled Crash Bandicoot 5

This isn't the first time we've heart about a Crash bandicoot 5. The project was reportedly cancelled by Activision, and we've got some new details about it thanks to Liam Robertson, a historian specializing in video games.

Activision decided to cancel the game due to the poor sales of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, though it had sold over 5 million copies. In any case, Toys for Bob already had some concepts for the project.

At first, the teams were working on a multiplayer game, though it ended up coming back to a single-player title, and all the work was reused for Crash Bandicoot 4. Next, a small team started working on the future of the IP, with a direct sequel to It's About Time in the pipeline.

The story had to do with a school of evil children, with villains from the previous entries coming back. Spyro was supposed to appear and even be playable, too!
