Valve confirms SteamOS support for ASUS ROG Ally in the near future
, by Quentin
It's no secret that Valve has repeatedly expressed its desire to let other companies use SteamOS, and even add support for it on rival consoles, such as ASUS' ROG Ally.
Valve is ready to support rival handhelds once they meet a certain criteria. What's more, some have already spotted a pretty interesting detail in the latest SteamOS release notes. It read as follows: "Added support for extra ROG Ally Keys". Lawrence Yang, a designer at Valve, has confirmed it.
He explains that the team continues to work hard on adding suport for other handhelds. While this surely won't replace Windows on competing machines, it could be an interesting alternative, moreso if it's well optimized.
