Meta has closed the Ready at Dawn VR games studio
, by Thibaut
Before being acquired by Facebook in 2020 and then integrated into Oculus Studios, Ready at Dawn delivered some great console games, including The Order: 1886 for PS4 and God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War: Ghost of Sparta and Daxter for PSP.
After that, the American company turned into a VR factory with Lone Echo, Echo Arena and Echo Combat. Launched in 2021, Lone Echo II will finally be the last game from Ready at Dawn, which has just closed its doors.
This is because of budget cuts at Meta's VR division. The company is encouraging all laid-off employees to apply to other studios unther the Oculus umbrella.
